New choral music published with VOCES8 Publishing

Last year, my original choral setting of a Walt Whitman poem, JUPITER SHALL EMERGE, was a prize-winning finalist in a composer competition put on by the Grammy-nominated choral octet, VOCES8. Later that year, I was thrilled when they premiered the piece in their annual music festival in Dorset. ⁣

Now, I’m delighted to share that they have published the piece with their new publishing arm, VOCES8 Publishing. If you are a musician and would like a challenging piece for your choir to perform, or would be interested in a perusal score for yourself, I’d be honored if you’d give JUPITER SHALL EMERGE a consideration. ⁣

The piece expresses my own personal feelings at the end of a long and difficult season, that with patience and faith, the clouds will eventually part and we will be able to see Jupiter again. Walt Whitman’s text is a beautiful reflection on hope, long-suffering, and the assurance that the light will outlast the shadows. I hope that those who listen to and sing my setting will be able to experience the fullness of that beautiful sentiment. ⁣
